We provide full services for our caprine patients, from general health (routine exams, hoof trimmings, vaccines) to emergencies for regular clients. We perform surgeries, including dehorning, castrations, and c-sections. We have even helped a few patients with broken legs!
Important routine care for goat herds, especially those with movement on and off the farm, is testing for CAE (Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis Virus), which is a contagious viral disease that can be spread from mother to kid via milk, or among adult goats through bodily secretions, including feces. Screening can be performed with a simple blood test, which we recommend when new goats are introduced to a herd.
