What is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons? We have two of them!

If you follow us on Facebook you may have seen our recent post about Dr. Virgin passing her surgery boards and becoming a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.  We have two boarded large animal surgeons on staff.  A boarded surgeon has completed at least one 1-year equine surgical internship followed by at least a three year residency through an ACVS approved hospital.  Approximately 9 months after completing their residency training, surgeon candidates must pass a rigorous examination in order to achieve diplomate status.  Dr. Virgin completed her examination in February and received her results and diplomate status last week.  We are very excited to have two talented board-certified surgeons on staff at GVC!
